This course allows students to explore careers in business while gaining skills applicable to any professional environment. Through a series of hands-on activities, students prepare legal documents, create a compliance plan, and discuss consumer protection issues. In this module, learners understand the critical concepts behind the formation and structure of companies from a legal perspective, trade laws and regulations, contracts, and compliance issues related to distribution and product liability. The corporate legal environment examines the role of law in all aspects of corporate ownership and governance. Throughout the course, students focus on legal ethics, litigation, tort, contracts, consumer law, real estate law, labor law, environmental law, and international law.
